TAQA Diamond Jubilee Mile
Introduction
The TAQA Diamond Jubilee Mile is a special event added this year to commemorate the Queen's 60 years on the throne. It is designed to provide activity for those who are accompanying runners doing the Petrofac Challenge but people are also very welcome to come along and run the Mile even if they are not with people involved in the longer event. There will be Fringe entertainment and catering available on the event field.
The Start
The TAQA Diamond Jubilee Mile starts at 11:15 - 12:15 on Sunday 29th April 2012
- Run start: 11:15 to 12:15 with runners being set off in batches approximately every ten minutes. Batches to be arranged on the day.
The run is chip timed to give everyone an exact mat-to-mat time for the accurately measured mile.
The Route
Runners will be set off in batches so that the course is never too busy and family groups can run together if they choose. All ages and abilities can take part. The course is mostly on tarred paths and is suitable for race running bikes.
