Official Race Charities

Each April, Cash for Kids, the Northsound Radio listeners charity hands out tens of thousands of pounds in grants to groups, organisations and projects which benefit disabled and disadvantaged children within the Northsound transmission area. By the time Run Balmoral comes round, the Cash for Kids coffers will be very, very empty. Please help to get our fundraising year off to a flying start by asking your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you for Run Balmoral. For each runner, there are probably dozens of people completely in awe of what you are doing. Let them be part of your day by asking them to sponsor you and share in your achievement. This is the second time Cash for Kids has been chosen as Run Balmoral’s nominated charity and both the organisers and the charity trustees hope this will be a record breaking year for the event in terms of charity contributions. Cash for Kids is Northsound Radio’s listener charity. Over the years CFK money has gone to:

  • Help finance after school paygroups and summer play schemes.
  • Family centres, sports and music groups and respite care projects.
  • It has helped transform police boxes into youth cafes and to run healthy tuck shops.
  • It has paid for drugs awareness plays and it has stocked toy libraries.

Cash for Kids helps some of the area’s large, well-established charities as well as many small projects which would otherwise slip through the funding net. Beneficiaries change from year to year – some ask for a one-off grant and don’t apply again. There’s more information about Cash for Kids at www.cashforkidsnorthsound.co.uk or call Aberdeen 337010.

Lifeboats white CMYK

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea.  To go on saving lives at sea means training and equipping our vital volunteer crews which costs money and, as a charity, the RNLI relies on your support.

Each year it costs over £1,000 to keep each of the 4,500 volunteer lifeboat crew members trained and ready to launch in all weathers, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.  The RNLI receives no central government funding to turn these ordinary people into extraordinary lifesavers.

You can be extraordinary too by choosing to run in aid of the RNLI.  We have assured places up for grabs and we offer all our runners a package of support, including training plan, fundraising advice and running vest.  We’ll even lend you an individual promotional ‘lifeboat’ for the day and be there to congratulate you on crossing the finish line.

Get in training and become a lifesaver today.  For further information, call 01738 642999 or visit our website here
